How to prevent scammers from sending you Direct Messages (DMs) on Discord.

Step 1: Open Discord

  • Launch the Discord app on your device and log in.

Step 2: Go to User Settings

  • Click on the ⚙️ "Settings" icon (bottom left on desktop, tap your profile picture on mobile).

    Step 3: Open Social Permissions

  • Scroll down and select "Content & Social."

Step 4: Disable Direct Messages from Server Members

  • Toggle off "Allow direct messages from server members."

  • This will prevent DMs from people who are in the same servers as you.

Step 5: Adjust Friend Request Settings

  • Under "Who can add you as a friend," choose:

    • Friends of Friends (safer)

    • Server Members (if necessary)

  • This reduces random friend requests from unknown users.

Step 6: Block Unwanted Messages

  • If someone is still sending you messages, right-click their name (or tap on mobile), and select Block.

Now your DMs are protected from unwanted messages! 🚫💬
