Step 1: Open Discord

Launch the Discord app on your device and log in.
Step 2: Go to User Settings

Click on the ⚙️ "Settings" icon (bottom left on desktop, tap your profile picture on mobile).
Step 3: Open Social Permissions

Scroll down and select "Content & Social."
Step 4: Disable Direct Messages from Server Members

Toggle off "Allow direct messages from server members."

This will prevent DMs from people who are in the same servers as you.
Step 5: Adjust Friend Request Settings

Under "Who can add you as a friend," choose:

Friends of Friends (safer)

Server Members (if necessary)

This reduces random friend requests from unknown users.
Step 6: Block Unwanted Messages

If someone is still sending you messages, right-click their name (or tap on mobile), and select Block.
Now your DMs are protected from unwanted messages! 🚫💬
Additional Tips to Stay Safe
✔️ Never click suspicious links from unknown users.
✔️ Avoid giving out personal information (email, phone number, etc.).
✔️ Report and block scammers by right-clicking their name and selecting "Block."
